Starting in November, the UK has some of the best Christmas Markets in the world. After all, with our rich history and picturesque towns and cities, nobody does it better!
I have picked three of the best for you to choose from, based on the town or city they are in, good travel links, and how much you can pack into one visit. Let the department stores and supermarkets keep the rent-a-gifts, if you want something unique, original, and often handmade, the Christmas markets are for you
Bath Christmas Market - A Floodlit Abbey and Ancient Cobbles
Head to Bath from 25th November to 12th December and you won’t be disappointed. Right next to the Roman Baths and overlooked by the stunning floodlit Abbey, this Christmas Market nestles in gloriously lit tiny wooden chalets. 123 Stallholders will sell you anything from intricate artisan tree decorations, wooden children’s toys, mulled wine, sweets, and gingerbread, to name but a few. Whilst there, pop into the Roman Baths gift shop, turn left and go up a small flight of stairs for free look at the magnificent Roman Baths, steaming away in the winter frost. Parking can be tight, so get there early, or use the Park and Ride bus service. Trains arrive and depart regularly from Bath Spa, just a five minute walk from the market.
