Creator’s Project: Then and Now
In 2010, the Creator’s Project exploded around the world into a phenomenon that helps raise awareness about underground artists. Founded by Vice Magazine and Intel Corporation, the “Project” lends an arm to those artists who lack resources allowing them to fully expand in their creative potential. Through state-of-the-art technology and interactive media; designers, musicians, filmmakers and the like from around the world can showcase their latest work. Currently, there are 100 Creators involved mostly from United States (US), United Kingdom (UK), Germany, France, Brazil, South Korea and China.
At the events, tens of thousands of guests are given a deeper look into the creatives who push boundaries, but don’t get very much mainstream recognition. Ironically, the showcase has also been viewed online over 55 million times.
Welcoming The Studio
A new extension of The Creator’s Project, The Studio is just that— a place where work can be produced and distributed. However, what sets this form of production apart from others is the ability for artists to truly expand in their medium(s) without the hounding of production and distribution rights. At The Studio, the rights belong to the artist alone, redirecting focus onto the artwork rather than the paperwork. Distribution through a number of channels such as international exhibits, museums, concerts, and digital platforms creates a direct avenue between the creator and the audience.
