A 12-year-old girl sustained leg, neck and ankle wounds and her 14-year-old brother sustained “superficial injuries.”

It was believed a stallholder was one of those injured.

The car came to a rest against a seat in the market place and its front end suffered substantial damage.

Officers from Northumbria Police and a Great North Air Ambulance attended the scene, which was strewn with debris. The driver of the car was allowed to leave the market place by police. Since the incident, officers have been investigating.

Now they have presented a file to a magistrates court as a result of which it will summons Mrs James, who is thought to live at The Crescent at Shilbottle, to appear there over an allegation of dangerous driving.

Police were unable to say last night which court Mrs James would appear at or when, although it is likely to be either South East Northumberland or Berwick magistrates court, the two establishments which deal with incidents from Alnwick.

A police spokesman confirmed: “An 80-year-old woman has been reported for dangerous driving.”

Peter Ellis was manning a stall in the market place when the incident occurred.

The 71-year-old, who had been coming to the festival since 1985, told The Journal at the time: “It was just like something out of a film, not something you expect to see in Alnwick.”

The music festival continued as normal the day after the incident.

Event committee chairman John Moodie said at the time: “If it had been a sunny day we could have had hundreds in the market place.”

International Northair Mines (TSXV:INM) announced an update to exploration activities at the Mexico-based La Cigarra silver project.

As quoted in the press release:

Results from the drill programs confirm:

  • A strong and potentially surface minable mineralized system comprised of the central (San Gregorio) and south (Las Carolinas) zones with a combined length of 1.7 kilometres. The mineralization encountered within these two zones remains open along strike in both directions and down dip.
  • Strike length of the San Gregorio Zone presently totals 650 metres. Drilling has confirmed the mineralized structure to be approximately 125 metres wide and traced to a depth of approximately 250 metres.
